Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a natural part of human diversity, shaping how people think, communicate, and experience the world. As part of the broader IDD community, it reflects a wide range of strengths, needs, and perspectives that make every individual unique.
Autistic individuals and people with IDD bring creativity, insight, and meaningful contributions to our communities, especially when they are supported, included, and empowered to live fulfilling lives on their own terms.
While symbols like the puzzle piece have been used in the past, our understanding continues to grow. Today, we center acceptance, dignity, and belonging.
At Esperanza, we are committed to walking alongside individuals and families, supporting independence, honoring each person’s voice, and building a more inclusive community where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
